Ditch the cone and bring a doughnut home

"At DIRTY LITTLE PAWS we passionately believe that all poorly pooches should be able to recover in both comfort and style, free of the dreaded 'cone of shame'

Hi, my name is Kevan Marshall, and I would like you to meet our 2 dogs Lucy Liu and Logan. The inspiration behind our brand DIRTY LITTLE PAWS.

Lucy Liu like many Chow Chow's is frequently bothered with hot spots. For those that have never heard of hot spots, they are a common shin condition also known as acute moist dermatitis which appear as red, inflamed skin lesions. For our Lucy they tend to be self afflicted as she licks and bites itchy parts of her body and can literally develop in a few minutes.

After several visits to the vets, the treatment was always the same, apply an ointment on the skin and put her in a 'cone of shame' to prevent her reaching the affected area. This meant our poor Lucy having to wear a cone for weeks and even months at a time. Lucy didn't get on with the cone at all as she found it really difficult to eat, drink and sleep whilst wearing it and it was making her miserable and if i'm honest it was making us miserable as well.

With both Lucy and our well being in mind we started looking for alternatives and came across inflatable collars but the only options out there at the time was either boring blue or dull grey and the quality was pretty poor. What we really wanted was an alternative to the cone, that as well as providing great comfort for our poor Lucy, it would also put a smile on our faces by making her look super cute.

This lead to us bringing out our own sprinkled doughnut recovery collars which we currently provide in both pink and blue.

Our doughnuts are supper soft, super comfy and we hope you agree with us, super cute. Basically everything the 'cone of shame' isn't

As well as providing a great solution to the 'cone of shame' for dogs with hot spots, our doughnut has been allowing other dogs with a wide range of ailments to recover in both comfort and style.

One of our first customers outside our own dog Lucy Liu, was a wee Yorkshire terrier called Buster. The poor wee guy had to have his leg amputated due to a tumour. Buster cold not settle at all in a cone and was getting no rest at all. His mother was at her whits end getting up at 4am to sew together a neck pillow to give him some relief, it was at this time she discovered our doughnut and below is her comment after we provided her with one:

''Thank you so much for what you have done for our Buster, your doughnut has been a great success. Buster was snoring in no time'

Being able to serve other dogs and dog owners just like us with our doughnuts is the best feeling in the world and comments like the one above as well as lots of other similar comments is really driving us forward to help as may dogs and dog owners we can to 'ditch that cone'

If you have a poorly pooch in need of a doughnut, you can find them currently on Amazon.co.uk or our website. We also ship international from our website if your outside the UK.

If you have a pet shop, vets practice etc. and would like to stock our doughnuts we would love to here from you. We would be delighted to have you as a retail partner as the more places our doughnuts are available the more dogs we can serve. There's also no minimum order quantity, order as many as you need"
