Let's Visit Manchester...

Updated: Feb 2, 2021

Meet Harley & Raffles as they take you on a tour of their home town!

Marbury Park, Cheshire

Marbury Park has 350 hectares of ancient woodland to explore. We love to wander along the paths and along the mere, which has beautiful views over to Great Budworth and explore the parkland. We always stop for a photo opportunity in the magnificent lime avenues.

Clifton Country Park, Swinton, Manchester

Clifton Country Park, is our favourite local walk, with acres of woodland, a beautiful lake and a dog-friendly cafe. It is also part of the Irwell Valley Sculpture Trail, which includes 70 art pieces. We enjoy running through the woods and having a swim in the lake. It’s a little piece of countryside in the middle of the city.

Altrincham, Cheshire

We enjoy a visit to Altrincham, where we have a walk down the pedestrianised main shopping street, lots of the shops are dog friendly and we are welcomed in with a bowl of water and sometimes a treat! At lunchtime, we head to the Market House, which has been converted into a gusto pub, selling delicious food from independent operators. There’s plenty of tables inside and outside under-cover from there we head to the pet store in the Market Hall for some treats.

Formby Beach, Merseyside

Formby Beach stretches for miles with dramatic sand dunes which are great for running around in. We love a paddle in the sea and when we’ve had enough of the beach we can explore the coastal pinewood, home to the rare red squirrel. We love to come here for a day out with a picnic.

Heaton Park, Prestwich, Manchester

Heaton Park is the largest park in Manchester and the largest municipal park in Europe.

It is situated in North Manchester and covers 600 acres. There are plenty of areas to explore, including picturesque ornamental gardens, woodland and a boating lake. The site is also home to the Grade II listed Heaton Hall.

The Lavender Barn, Dunham, Cheshire

The Lavender Barn tea room is in the heart of the Dunham Massey countryside. They serve sandwiches and delicious cakes for humans and in addition have a doggy menu and a dedicated room filled with comfy dog beds and water bowls.
